Resumo Os autores desenvolveram e validaram um novo instrumento de triagem psicológica incluindo um conjunto de preditores de adaptação presentes na literatura. Ao combinar preditores relevantes, a proposta da nova escala é rastrear pacientes oncológicos vulneráveis antes de desenvolverem níveis mais elevados de distress. Essa nova escala foi denominada Indicador de Risco Psicológico em Oncologia (IRPO). O objetivo deste artigo é descrever o desenvolvimento do IRPO e a constatação de evidências de sua validade. O método teve duas fases: 1- elaboração do instrumento e análise fatorial; 2 - análise da validade preditiva e normatização da escala. Na fase 1, o Indicador de Risco Psicológico em Oncologia (IRPO) foi desenvolvido e aplicado a 300 pacientes com câncer identificando-se cinco fatores na análise fatorial: distress; enfrentamento ativo; suporte social emocional; suporte social instrumental e percepção negativa da doença. O escore geral teve bons níveis de confiabilidade ((=0,90). Na fase 2, 98 pacientes foram avaliados com o IRPO e a Escala Hospitalar de Ansiedade e Depressão (HAD), que foi utilizada como variável critério para verificar a validade preditiva. O instrumento manteve boa estabilidade em sua estrutura fatorial e mostrou boa capacidade preditiva em relação a HAD (R 2 =0,59). Análises fatoriais, de consistência interna, de correlação e de regressão indicaram que o IRPO demonstra evidências de validade e fidedignidade, como também confirmaram a viabilidade dos parâmetros psicométricos recomendados para identificar pacientes com câncer em risco psicológico.

Abstract The authors developed and validated a novel psychological screening instrument including a set of predictors of adaptation present in the literature. By combining meaningful predictors, the new scale's purpose is to screen vulnerable cancer patients before the development of higher levels of distress. This novel scale was named Psychological Risk Indicator in Oncology (i.e., in Brazilian Portuguese Indicador de Risco Psicológico em Oncologia - IRPO). The objective of this article is to describe the IRPO development and the finding of evidence of the validity. The method had two different phases: 1 - instrument development and factorial analysis; 2 - predictive validity analysis and normatizing of scale. In Phase 1, the Psychological Risk Indicator in Oncology (IRPO) was developed and administered to 300 cancer patients with five factors (27 items) identified in the exploratory factorial analysis: distress; active coping; emotional social support; instrumental social support; and negative perception of illness. The overall test score achieved a good level of reliability (α=0.90). In Phase 2, 98 cancer patients were evaluated with the IRPO and the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HAD), which was used as the criterion variable to verify predictive validity. The factorial structure of the IRPO maintained good stability and demonstrated good predictive power in relation to the HAD (R 2 = 0.59). Factorial, internal consistency, correlations, and regression analyses indicated that the IRPO demonstrated evidence of validity and reliability, and also confirmed the viability of the recommended psychometric parameters to evaluate cancer patients at psychological risk.

Abstract Soybean is a key crop in many countries, being used from human food to the animal industry due to its nutritional properties. Financially, the grain chain moves large sums of money into the economy of producing countries. However, like other agricultural commodities around the world, it can have its final yield seriously compromised by abiotic environmental stressors, like drought. As flowers imply in pods and in grains inside it to minimize damages caused by water restriction, researchers have focused on understanding flowering-process related genes and their interactions. Here a review dedicated to the soybean flowering process and gene network involved in it is presented, describing gene interactions and how genes act in this complex mechanism, also ruled by environmental triggers such as day-light and circadian cycle. The objective was to gather information and insights on the soybean flowering process, aiming to provide knowledge useful to assist in the development of drought-tolerant soybean lines, minimizing losses due to delays or anticipation of flowering and, consequently, restraining financial and productivity losses.

Resumo Os estudos sobre epífitas vasculares realizados em Minas Gerais vêm revelando uma elevada riqueza nas Florestas Estacionais Semideciduais (FES), quando comparadas àquelas de outros estados brasileiros. O presente estudo teve como objetivos apresentar uma listagem das epífitas vasculares da Serra do Relógio, na Floresta Atlântica de Minas Gerais, analisar a similaridade entre duas áreas localizadas em diferentes altitudes, além de discutir sobre a elevada riqueza registrada para esta sinúsia nas FES do estado. A pesquisa foi conduzida em duas Unidades de Conservação (UC) que distam cerca de 6 km entre si e possuem altitudes variando entre ~500 e 1.434 m. Os dados foram obtidos de estudos publicados e expedições realizadas entre os anos de 2016 e 2019. Nós registramos 158 espécies pertencentes a 76 gêneros e 22 famílias. A riqueza observada no presente estudo é maior do que aquela encontrada em pesquisas realizadas em florestas ombrófilas, fato considerado inesperado devido à elevada umidade desta fitofisionomia. Embora ~66% das espécies da SR tenham suas sementes dispersas pelo vento e as UC’s sejam geograficamente muito próximas, a similaridade encontrada foi de apenas ~22%, sugerindo que a diferença de altitude entre as áreas e o histórico de uso podem estabelecer filtros que influenciam na composição florística de cada uma delas. Nossos resultados ressaltam a importância da conservação dos remanescentes florestais no Brasil e da criação e manutenção de UC’s para protegê-los.

Abstract Studies conducted on vascular epiphytes in Minas Gerais have revealed high richness in the seasonal semi-deciduous forests (SSF) in comparison with those of other Brazilian states. This study aimed to present a vascular epiphyte checklist of the Serra do Relógio (SR) in the Atlantic Forest of Minas Gerais, in order to analyze the similarity between two areas in different altitudes, as well as to discuss the high richness recorded for this synusia in the SSFs of this state. The survey was performed in two conservation units (CUs) apart from each other approximately 6 km and with elevations varying between ~500 and 1,434 m. The data were obtained from published articles and fieldwork performed between the years 2016 and 2019. We recorded 158 species distributed in 76 genera and 22 families. This richness is greater than those found in some ombrophilous forests, which was an unexpected result due to the high moisture of this phytophysionomy. Although approximately 66% of the species found in the SR are anemochoric and the compared CUs are geographically close, the similarity was only 22%, suggesting that the difference in altitude between the areas and the history of use can impose filters that influence the floristic composition of each one area. These results highlight the importance of preserving the forest remnants in Brazil and creating and maintain CUs to protect them.

RESUMO - RACIONAL: O câncer colorretal geralmente metastatiza para o fígado. Hepatectomia associada à quimioterapia sistêmica é potencialmente curativa para metástases hepáticas colorretais, entretanto, muitos pacientes apresentarão recidiva após a cirurgia. Em casos selecionados, a re-hepatectomia é viável, com relatos de melhora na sobrevida global. OBJETIVO: Analisar pacientes com metástase hepática colorretal operados em três centros do Rio de Janeiro, nos últimos 10 anos, comparando as morbidades da primeira hepatectomia e da re-hepectomia. MÉTODOS: De junho de 2009 a julho de 2020, 192 pacientes com metástase hepática colorretal foram submetidos à hepatectomia em três hospitais do Rio de Janeiro. Os dados dos pacientes, cirurgias e desfechos foram coletados de um banco de dados mantido prospectivamente. Pacientes submetidos à primeira hepatectomia e re-hepatectomia foram classificados como Grupo 1 e Grupo 2, respectivamente. Os dados dos grupos foram comparados e o valor de p<0,05 foi considerado significativo. RESULTADOS: Dentre 192 pacientes, dezesseis foram excluídos. Dos 176 pacientes restantes, 148 e 28 foram incluídos dos Grupos 1 e 2, respectivamente. Cinquenta e cinco (37,2%) pacientes no Grupo 1 e treze (46,5%) no Grupo 2 apresentaram complicações pós-operatórias. Comparando os Grupos 1 e 2, não foi observada diferença estatística entre o número de pacientes com complicações pós-operatórias (p = 0,834), complicações menores (p = 0,266) ou maiores (p = 0,695) e óbitos (p = 0,407). CONCLUSÕES: Não foram registradas diferenças na morbidade ou mortalidade entre os pacientes submetidos à primeira ou à re-hepatectomia em pacientes com metástase hepática colorretal, o que sustenta que a re-hepatectomia pode ser realizada com resultados comparáveis à primeira hepatectomia.

ABSTRACT - BACKGROUND: Colorectal cancer generally metastasizes to the liver. Surgical resection of liver metastasis, which is associated with systemic chemotherapy, is potentially curative, but many patients will present recurrence. In selected patients, repeated hepatectomy is feasible and improves overall survival. AIM: This study aimed to analyze patients with colorectal liver metastasis (CRLM) submitted to hepatectomy in three centers from Rio de Janeiro, over the past 10 years, by comparing the morbidity of first hepatectomy and re-hepatectomy. METHODS: From June 2009 to July 2020, 192 patients with CRLM underwent liver resection with curative intent in three hospitals from Rio de Janeiro Federal Health System. The data from patients, surgeries, and outcomes were collected from a prospectively maintained database. Patients submitted to first and re-hepatectomies were classified as Group 1 and Group 2, respectively. Data from groups were compared and value of p<0.05 was considered significant. RESULTS: Among 192 patients, 16 were excluded. Of the remaining 176 patients, 148 were included in Group 1 and 28 were included in Group 2. Fifty-five (37.2%) patients in Group 1 and 13 (46.5%) in Group 2 presented postoperative complications. Comparing Groups 1 and 2, we found no statistical difference between the cases of postoperative complications (p=0.834), number of minor (p=0.266) or major (p=0.695) complications, and deaths (p=0.407). CONCLUSIONS: No differences were recorded in morbidity or mortality between patients submitted to first and re-hepatectomies for CRLM, which reinforces that re-hepatectomy can be performed with outcomes comparable to first hepatectomy.

Resumo A importância da realização de inventários botânicos, de forma contínua, vem sendo questionada nas últimas décadas, gerando falta de investimento e desinteresse de pesquisadores por esta área. No entanto, vale ressaltar que os demais estudos aplicados à conservação são possíveis apenas com a disponibilidade de dados primários obtidos nestas pesquisas. Embora Minas Gerais (MG) apresente a maior riqueza de espécies cientificamente conhecidas no Brasil, ainda possui várias lacunas de conhecimento, como é o caso da Serra da Mantiqueira (SM), uma importante área para a conservação da biodiversidade no país. Neste cenário, a fitofisionomia Floresta Estacional Semidecidual (FES) merece destaque, por possuir ampla extensão e importância no estado, porém permanecer subamostrada. O estudo teve como objetivos apresentar importantes registros de espécies para a flora de MG e discutir sobre a necessidade de inventários florísticos no Brasil. Os registros foram feitos em três de 10 áreas estudadas, durante coletas realizadas entre os anos de 2012 e 2019, e são parte de um amplo estudo que está sendo realizado em fragmentos de FES, deficitários de dados florísticos, localizados na SM. Foram registradas três espécies pela primeira vez em MG, uma espécie foi redescoberta após mais de dois séculos após sua última coleta, além de nove espécies consideradas raras no estado. O presente estudo contribuiu com o preenchimento de lacunas de conhecimento sobre a flora do Brasil e também demonstrou a importância da realização de novas coletas, principalmente em áreas específicas e subamostradas no interior do país, como as FES.

Abstract The importance of continuously conducting botanical inventories has been questioned in recent decades, generating a lack of investment and interest in this area. However, several applied studies are only possible after obtaining the primary data from such surveys. Despite having the greatest richness of plants known in Brazil, several areas with knowledge gaps remain in Minas Gerais (MG) state. This is the case for the Serra da Mantiqueira, an important area for biodiversity conservation in the country. In this scenario, the phytophysiognomy of Seasonal Semi-deciduous Forest (SSF) deserves attention, as it is broadly distributed and has great relevance in the state, although subsampled. Therefore, this study aimed to present records of species for the flora of MG and discuss the need for floristic surveys in Brazil. These species were recorded in three of 10 studied remnants along expeditions performed between the years of 2012 and 2019 as part of a wide study performed in SSF remnants in the Serra da Mantiqueira which have a deficit of floristic data. Three species are recorded for the first time in MG, one species was rediscovered after more than two centuries from the last collection (which represents its nomenclatural type), in addition to nine other species which must be considered rare in the state. This study contributed to filling gaps in knowledge on Brazilian flora and also demonstrated the relevance of continuing new collections, mainly in specific subsampled areas in the interior of the country such as in SSF remnants.

Abstract Water deficit is an important climatic problem that can impair agriculture yield and economy. Genetically modified soybean plants containing the AtNCED3 gene were obtained aiming drought-tolerance improvement. The NCED3 gene encodes a 9-cis-epoxycarotenoid dioxygenase (NCED, EC 1.13.11.51), an important enzyme in abscisic acid biosynthesis. ABA activates the expression of drought-responsive genes, in water-deficit conditions, targeting defense mechanisms and enabling plants to survive under low water availability. Results from greenhouse experiments showed that the transgene AtNCED3 and the endogenous genes GmAREB1, GmPP2C, GmSnRK2 and GmAAO3 presented higher expression under water deficit (WD) in the event 2Ha11 than in WT-plants. No significant correlation was observed between the plant materials and WD conditions for growth parameters; however, gas exchange measurements decreased in the GM event, which also showed 80% higher intrinsic water use when compared to WT plants. In crop season 2015/16, event 2Ha11 showed higher total number of pods, higher number of pods with seeds and yield than WT plants. ABA concentration was also higher in GM plants under WD. These results obtained in field screenings suggest that AtNCED3 soybean plants might outperform under drought, reducing economic and yield losses, thus being a good candidate line to be incorporated in the soybean-breeding program to develop drought-tolerant cultivars.

Abstract Background: Distress has a potentiating effect on complications of heart disease. Early identification of distress and psychosocial management could help patients to deal with the disease and improve their quality of life. However, in Brazil, there is no specific instrument for evaluation of distress in cardiac patients. Objectives: To describe the validation process of the Screening Tool for Psychosocial Distress (STOP-D) for the Brazilian population. Methods: Cross-sectional, observational study with a quantitative approach. A total of 144 patients (including outpatients and inpatients) were interviewed at the waiting room of the outpatient cardiology clinic or in cardiology wards. Sociodemographic and clinical data were collected, and distress was assessed using two instruments - the Brazilian version of the STOP-D and the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS). First, we performed an exploratory factor analysis and analysis of the accuracy of the STOP-D score by the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curvet. Results: The factorability analysis of the correlation matrix did not detect any factor that made the factorial solution unfeasible. The instrument showed a single-factor nature, confirmed by the criterion of eigenvalues, with an 85% accuracy in predicting distress. A cut-off point of 15.5 was chosen for distress using the ROC curve. Conclusions: The Brazilian version of the STOP-D is an adequate instrument for the screening of heart disease patient for distress. It can be easily used by any health professional and would contribute to the promotion of a comprehensive support to cardiac patients.

RESUMO Introdução: A prática de atividade física tornou-se menos frequente a partir dos anos 80, mesmo entre crianças mais ativas. Objetivo: Analisar o consumo excessivo de oxigênio pós-exercício (EPOC) e o gasto energético total (TEE) em crianças durante e após três atividades distintas. Métodos: Dezesseis crianças saudáveis (9,6 ± 0,1 anos) foram submetidas aleatoriamente aos seguintes procedimentos com duração de 30 minutos em dias diferentes: (a) brincadeiras tradicionais (PLAY), (b) videogame ativo (Dance Dance Revolution, DDR) e (c) assistir à televisão (TV). O consumo de oxigênio (VO2) foi medido em repouso, no 10°, 20° e 30° minuto de intervenção e 40 minutos depois da intervenção. O TEE também foi calculado. Resultados: No final da intervenção, o VO2 aumentou 330% e 166% para PLAY e DDR, respectivamente, em comparação com o repouso. Observou-se que o EPOC no PLAY ocorreu aos 10, 20 e 30 minutos depois da intervenção, de 7,00 ± 1,02 (em repouso) para 10,83 ± 0,94, 10,03 ± 0,58 e 9,80 ± 0,77 mL.kg-1.min-1, respectivamente. O EPOC no DDR ocorreu apenas no 10° minuto pós-intervenção (7,04 a 8,61 mL.kg-1.min-1, p < 0,01). Após a intervenção, o TEE no PLAY foi maior que em DDR e TV (112,08 ± 19,45 vs. 56,98 ± 6,34 vs. 36,39 ± 4,5 kcal, p < 0,01), respectivamente. Conclusões: O PLAY induziu as crianças a maior VO2 durante a atividade e maior EPOC e TEE com relação a DDR e TV. Nível de evidência A1b; Estudo cruzado.

ABSTRACT Introduction: Physical activity has become less frequent since the 1980s, even among more active children. Objective: To analyze excess post-exercise oxygen consumption (EPOC) and total energy expenditure (TEE) in children during and after three different activities. Methods: Sixteen healthy children (9.6±0.1 yrs.) randomly underwent the following procedures lasting 30 minutes on different days: (a) traditional games (PLAY), (b) active video game (Dance Dance Revolution; DDR), and (c) watching television (TV). Oxygen consumption (VO2) was measured at rest, at the 10th, 20th, and 30th minute of intervention, and for 40 minutes post-intervention. TEE was also measured. Results: At the end of intervention, VO2 had increased by 330% and 166% for PLAY and DDR, respectively, compared to the rest. EPOC in PLAY was seen to occur at the 10th, 20th, and 30th post-interventional minutes from 7.00±1.02 (at rest) to 10.83±0.94, 10.03±0.58, and 9.80±0.77mL.kg-1.min-1, respectively. However, EPOC in DDR occurred at only the 10th postinterventional minute (7.04 to 8.61 mL.kg-1.min-1; p<0.01). After intervention, TEE in PLAY was greater than in DDR and TV (112.08±19.45 vs 56.98±6.34 vs 36.39±4.5 kcal; p<0.01), respectively. RESUMEN Introducción: La actividad física se ha vuelto menos frecuente desde la década de 1980, incluso entre los niños más activos. Objetivo: Analizar el consumo excesivo de oxígeno post ejercicio (EPOC) y el gasto de energía total (TEE) en niños durante y después del juego activo tradicional y comparar con el video game activo y televisión. Métodos: Dieciséis niños saludables (9,6 ± 0,1 años) fueron sometidos durante 30 minutos, en días diferentes, a las siguientes sesiones: (a) juegos tradicionales (PLAY), (b) video game activo (DDR) y (c) televisión (TV). El consumo de oxígeno (VO2) fue medido en reposo en el 10°, 20° y 30° minuto de intervención y durante 40 minutos después de la intervención. El TEE se calculó a partir de datos VO2. Resultados: Durante las sesiones de VO2 aumentó un 330% y 166% para PLAY y DDR, respectivamente, en relación al reposo. Se observó que el EPOC en PLAY se produjo a los 10, 20 y 30 minutos post intervención 7,00 ± 1,02 (en reposo) a 10,83 ± 0,94, 10,03 ± 0,58 y 9, 80 ± 0,77 mL.kg-1.min-1, respectivamente. El EPOC en DDR se produjo apenas en el 10° min después de la intervención (7,04 a la 8,61 mL.kg-1.min-1, p <0,01). RESUMO A infecção por Clostridium difficile é uma complicação comum após a disbiose intestinal ocasionada pelo uso abusivo de antibióticos. Apresenta elevada importância médica devido às altas taxas de recorrência e morbidade. O transplante de microbiota fecal é uma alternativa eficaz para o tratamento da infecção recorrente e refratária pelo C. difficile e consiste na introdução da microbiota intestinal de um doador saudável em um paciente portador desta infecção. O mecanismo fisiológico exato pelo qual o transplante de microbiota fecal altera a microbiota intestinal não está tão bem estabelecido, mas é evidente que restaura a diversidade e a estrutura da microbiota promovendo aumento da resistência à colonização pelo C.difficile. Diversas vias de administração do transplante estão sendo estudadas e utilizadas de acordo com as vantagens apresentadas. Todas as formas de aplicação apresentaram elevada taxa de cura, sendo a via colonoscópica a mais utilizada. Não foram documentados complicações e efeitos adversos relevantes, e seu custo benefício em relação ao tratamento convencional se mostrou vantajoso. Apesar da sua eficácia é pouco utilizado como terapia inicial, sendo necessários mais estudos para firmar essa terapêutica como primeira opção no caso de infecção por Clostridium difficile refratária e recorrente.

ABSTRACT Clostridium difficile infection is a common complication following intestinal dysbiosis caused by abusive antibiotic use. It presents medical importance due to the high rates of recurrence and morbidity. Fecal microbiota transplantation is an effective alternative for the treatment of recurrent and refractory C. difficile infection and consists of introducing the intestinal microbiota from a healthy donor into a patient with this infection. The exact physiological mechanism by which fecal microbiota transplantation alters the intestinal microbiota is not well established, but it is clear that it restores the diversity and structure of the microbiota by promoting increased resistance to colonization by C. difficile. Several routes of transplant administration are being studied and used according to the advantages presented. All forms of application had a high cure rate, and the colonoscopic route was the most used. No relevant complications and adverse events have been documented, and the cost-effectiveness over conventional treatment has proven advantageous. Despite its efficacy, it is not commonly used as initial therapy, and more studies are needed to establish this therapy as the first option in case of refractory and recurrent Clostridium difficileinfection.

Introdução: Os efeitos do exercício físico são associados à redução da ansiedade e à manutenção desse estado por diversas horas. Contudo, poucos trabalhos têm investigado os efeitos do exercício agudo sobre a ansiedade. Objetivo: Investigar o efeito agudo da intensidade do exercício físico sobre comportamento relacionado com a ansiedade em modelos animais. Métodos: Cinquenta e seis ratos Wistar machos foram distribuídos aleatoriamente em oito grupos: controle, 0%, 5% e 50% de carga correspondente ao peso corporal dos animais. Os grupos foram submetidos a um protocolo de natação que consistiu na realização de 30 minutos de exercício para os grupos 0% e 5% e dez sessões de dez saltos intercalados por um minuto de descanso para o grupo 50%. Após a natação, os animais foram expostos aos testes de campo aberto e labirinto em cruz elevado. Os dados foram avaliados estatisticamente pela One-way ANOVA e teste post hoc de Bonferroni, adotando-se P<0,05. Resultados: Na análise dos dados no teste de campo aberto foram encontradas diferenças significativas nas medidas de cruzamento (F(3,20) = 9,60; p < 0,01), ocorrendo um aumento de cruzamentos do grupo 5% (81,2 ± 14,8) com relação ao grupo controle (45,0 ± 8,7). Foi encontrada diferença significativa no percentual de entrada nos braços abertos (F(3,28) = 5,63; p < 0,01), havendo uma diminuição no grupo 50% (25,4 ± 17,0) com relação ao grupo controle (46,8 ± 9,1). Conclusão: A prática de exercício físico na intensidade de 5% apresentou efeitos ansiolíticos, enquanto na intensidade de 50%, apresentou efeitos ansiogênicos.

Introduction: The effects of physical exercise are associated with reduced anxiety and maintaining this state for several hours. However, few studies have investigated the effects of acute exercise on anxiety. Objective: To investigate the acute effect of exercise intensity on behavior related to anxiety in animal models. Methods: Fifty-six male Wistar rats were randomly divided in eight groups: control, 0%, 5%, and 50% of the load corresponding to the weight of the animals. The groups were submitted to a swimming protocol that consisted of 30 minutes of exercise for groups 0% and 5% and ten sessions of ten jumps interspersed with one minute of rest for the 50% group. After swimming the animals were exposed to the open field test and the elevated plus-maze test. Data were statistically analyzed by One-way ANOVA test and post hoc Bonferroni test, using P<0.05. Results: Data analysis in the open field test found significant differences for crossing measures (F(3,20)=9.60, p<0.01), with an increase of crossings in group 5% (81.2±14.8) compared to the control group (45.0±8.7). A significant difference was found in the input percentage in the open arms (F(3,28)=5.63, p<0.01), with a decrease in group 50% (25.4±17.0) in respect to the control group (46.8±9.1). Conclusion: The practice of exercise at intensity of 5% showed anxiolytic effects while at the intensity of 50% elicited anxiogenic effects.

Introducción: Los efectos del ejercicio físico están asociados con una reducción de la ansiedad y el mantenimiento de este estado durante varias horas. Sin embargo, pocos estudios han investigado los efectos del ejercicio agudo sobre la ansiedad. Objetivo: Investigar el efecto agudo de la intensidad del ejercicio sobre el comportamiento relacionado con la ansiedad en modelos animales. Métodos: Cincuenta y seis ratas macho Wistar fueron divididas aleatoriamente en ocho grupos: control, 0%, 5% y 50% de la carga correspondiente al peso corporal de los animales. Los grupos fueron sometidos a un protocolo de natación que consistió en 30 minutos de ejercicio para los grupos 0% y 5% y diez sesiones de diez saltos intercalados con un minuto de descanso para el grupo 50%. Tras la natación, los animales fueron expuestos a la prueba de campo abierto y del laberinto en cruz elevado. Los datos fueron evaluados estadísticamente mediante ANOVA de una vía y por la prueba post hoc de Bonferroni, usándose P < 0,05. Resultados: En el análisis de los datos, en la prueba de campo abierto, fueron encontradas diferencias significativas en las medidas de cruce (F(3,20) = 9,60; p < 0,01), ocurriendo un aumento de cruces del grupo 5% (81,2 ± 14,8) con relación al grupo control (45,0 ± 8,7). Se encontraron diferencias significativas en el porcentaje de entrada en brazos abiertos (F(3,28) = 5,63; p < 0,01), con una disminución en el grupo 50% (25,4 ± 17,0) con respecto al grupo control (46,8 ± 9,1). Conclusión: El ejercicio físico en intensidad 5% mostró efectos ansiolíticos, mientras que en intensidad 50% tuvo efectos ansiogénicos.

RESUMOAs relações entre o nacional e o regional ganharam progressiva projeção entre as elites técnicas e empresariais de Minas Gerais no transcurso da modernização econômica brasileira (1930-1970). Desenvolveu-se compreensão crescentemente refinada dos fatores que presidiram a formação e reprodução dos desequilíbrios regionais e que responderam pelo atraso relativo da economia mineira. Em revistas de associação de classe (Associação Comercial de Minase Federação das Indústrias do Estado de Minas Gerais), de categoria profissional (Sociedade Mineira de Engenheiros) e em revistas acadêmicas (Faculdade de Ciências Econômicas - UFMG), engenheiros, economistas e empresários apresentaram estudos e reflexões que contemplaram a demonstração do caráter desigual e concentrador do desenvolvimento brasileiro, a afirmação da crescente periferização da economia regional e a reivindicação da intervenção dos poderes públicos, estadual e federal, por meio de políticas que promovessem a interiorização do desenvolvimento e afirmassem a legitimidade de regionalismo corretivo das contradições da modernização econômica nacional.

ABSTRACTRelations between the nation and the region became progressively more important among the technical and business elites in the state of Minas Gerais during the period of economic modernization in Brazil (1930-1970). An ever more refined understanding was developed of the factors that governed the formation and reproduction of regional imbalances, and which were responsible for the relative lag of the economy of Minas. In association journals (Associação Comercial de Minas e Federação das Indústrias do Estado de Minas Gerais), professional journals (Sociedade Mineira de Engenheiros) and academic journals (Faculdade de Ciências Econômicas - UFMG), engineers, economists and businessmen presented studies and reflections that demonstrated the unequal and concentrative nature of Brazilian development. These studies also showed the affirmation of the growing peripheral nature of the regional economy and the claim for intervention by state and federal governments, through policies that promoted the development of the interior and confirmed the legitimacy of regionally correcting the contradictions of national economic modernization.

O presente estudo teve como objetivo documentar a composição, riqueza, diversidade, bem como a distribuição horizontal e vertical de Bromeliaceae epífitas em um fragmento de floresta estacional semidecidual submontana no Estado de Minas Gerais (-21°38'15"S, -43°10'55"W). Três pontos (semicírculos com raio de 25 m) foram delimitados, e 72 forófitos abrigaram 15 espécies de Bromeliaceae epifíticas, distribuídas em nove gêneros. Nidularium azureum (L.B.Sm.) Leme é uma espécie endêmica local e considerada “criticamente em perigo”. Em geral, a riqueza é mais alta do que em outras localidades, com área maior tanto em florestas estacionais semideciduais quanto ombrófilas. Foram encontradas algumas diferenças quanto à composição, diversidade e riqueza entre os três pontos, as quais devem estar relacionadas às condições de microhabitats. Os troncos das árvores concentraram o maior número de ocorrências (101 das 246) e Tillandsia stricta Sol. ex Sims teve a maior frequência nos forófitos. Os valores de H’ = 2,34 e J = 0,87 podem ser considerados similares ou mesmo mais altos do que em algumas florestas ombrófilas.

The present study aimed to document the composition, richness, diversity as well as horizontal and vertical distribution of epiphytic Bromeliaceae in a fragment of submontane seasonal semideciduous forest in Minas Gerais State (-21°38'15''S, -43°10'55''W). Three plots (semicircles with a radius of 25 m) were marked and we found 72 phorophytes that harbor 15 species of epiphytic Bromeliaceae, distributed in nine genera. Nidularium azureum (L.B.Sm.) Leme is local endemic, and considered critically endangered. In general, the richness is higher than other larger areas of seasonal semideciduous or even ombrophilous forests. Some differences concerning composition, diversity and richness among the plots were found and must be due to microhabitat conditions. Trunks supported most occurrences (101 out of 246) and Tillandsia stricta Sol. ex Sims had the highest frequency on the phorophytes. The values of H’ = 2.34 and J = 0.87 must be considered similar or even higher than some ombrophilous forests.

Introdução: A doença arterial coronária continua sendo um dos maiores problemas de saúde pública da atualidade e a intervenção coronária percutânea com stents farmacológicos é a forma mais frequente de tratamento desses pacientes. O objetivo deste estudo foi avaliar a taxa de desfechos clínicos no seguimento clínico de até 10 anos dos pacientes tratados com stents farmacológicos. Métodos: Pacientes com indicação de ICP foram incluídos de forma prospectiva, independentemente do quadro clínico ou angiográfico de apresentação. O desfecho primário consistiu na avaliação da taxa de eventos cardíacos adversos maiores combinados (óbito cardíaco, infarto agudo do miocárdio não fatal ou necessidade de revascularização do vaso alvo guiada por isquemia) no seguimento clínico tardio. Resultados: No período 2002 a 2012, incluímos 1.632 pacientes, com idade de 64,3 ± 10,9 anos, 71,4% eram do sexo masculino e 31,2% portadores de diabetes mellitus. As taxas de sucesso angiográfico e clínico foram de 99,1% e 96,7%, respectivamente. O seguimento clínico foi realizado em 95,8% dos elegíveis em um tempo médio de seguimento de 3,4 ± 2,6 anos. O desfecho primário ocorreu em 246 pacientes (15,9%), com taxas de óbito cardíaco de 6,4%, infarto do miocárdio de 3,6% e revascularização do vaso alvo de 5,5%. A trombose do stent foi verificada em 40 pacientes (2,4%). Conclusões: Nesta experiência da prática clínica diária, a utilização dos stents farmacológicos demonstrou resultados clínicos favoráveis agudos e no longo prazo no tratamento de uma população não selecionada de pacientes com doença arterial coronária e graus variáveis de complexidade clínica e angiográfica.

Background: Coronary artery disease remains a major public healthcare problem worldwide and percutaneous coronary intervention with drug-eluting stents is the most frequent treatment option for these patients. The objective of this study was to evaluate the rate of clinical events in up to 10 years of clinical follow-up of patients treated with drug-eluting stents. Methods: We prospectively enrolled patients with an indication for percutaneous coronary intervention despite their clinical or angiographic presentation. The primary endpoint consisted of the evaluation of the composite rate of major adverse cardiac events (cardiac death, non-fatal acute myocardial infarction or the need of ischemia guided target vessel revascularization) in the late clinical follow-up. Results: From 2002 to 2012, we included 1,632 patients with mean age of 64.3 ± 10.9 years, 71.4% were male and 31.2% had diabetes mellitus. The angiographic and clinical success rates were 99.1% and 96.7%, respectively. Follow-up was obtained in 95.8% of the eligible patients at a mean of 3.4 ± 2.6 years. The primary endpoint was observed in 246 patients (15.9%), with rates of cardiac death of 6.4%, myocardial infarction of 3.6% and target vessel revascularization of 5.5%. Stent thrombosis was observed in 40 patients (2.4%). Conclusions: In this clinical practice experience the use of drug-eluting stents demonstrated favorable acute and long-term results in the treatment of a non-selected population of patients with coronary artery disease and variable degrees of clinical and angiographic complexity.
